Catechesi N. 39

A - È proprio necessario arrivare sul ciglio del burrone per desiderare di tornare indietro, mentre già si scivola giù ed è forse troppo tardi per salvarsi?
B - Non può esserci distinzione tra il contenuto della preghiera e le opere che si compiono.
C - Gesù è ignorato! Riportiamo Gesù al centro delle Chiese e dei cuori. Le omelie siano sul Vangelo e sulla Persona del Signore.
D - Chi non ama la Madonna non potrà mai rimanere fedele a Gesù, perché è la Madre che fa conoscere tutta la Verità sul Figlio Divino.
E - Ai credenti viene fatta sempre da Gesù la proposta di passare "all’altra riva".

A - Di tutti i Santi la Chiesa festeggia la natività solamente di Giovanni Battista. Inoltre il 29 agosto c'è un'altra festività dedicata al Precursore e si festeggia il suo martirio. Questa è la giustizia di Dio: dare di più a chi molto ha meritato, e l'esempio di Maria Maddalena che incontrò Gesù Risorto prima degli Apostoli è il più classico.
Questo grandissimo Profeta chiude cronologicamente l'Antico Testamento. Con Lui termina la preparazione alla venuta del Messia e non appena appare all'orizzonte la figura di Gesù si spegne quella di Giovanni Battista.
La sua vita è un programma ascetico difficilmente imitabile. Egli volle vivere la sua missione con uno zelo e uno stile penitenziale impensabile per gli esseri umani non confermati in Grazia come lo fu Lui, quando sussultò nel grembo di Elisabetta non appena ebbe udito la voce della Madonna. Era la Vergine Maria a parlare ma da Lei fuoriusciva la potenza dell'Altissimo che portava nel suo grembo.
Se osserviamo Giovanni Battista con gli occhi della Fede, ci accorgiamo che la società di oggi vive in piena antitesi con il suo esempio. Sono questi due stili di vita completamente opposti. Se quella del Santo era caratterizzata da una penitenza fortissima, la vita dissipata dell'umanità è una profondissima caduta, e sono pochi quelli che riescono ad aggrapparsi alla misericordia di Dio.
Non dobbiamo considerare le penitenze del Santo come assolute esagerazioni. Egli ha espresso tutto il suo amore a Dio dimenticandosi delle cose terrene e abbandonandosi pienamente alla sua volontà. L'amore era proporzionato alle sue penitenze, e la sua dedizione alla causa di Gesù non aveva assolutamente cedimenti e viveva per compiacere Dio.
La società oggi è ricolma di disastri morali. Le due cause scatenanti sono la voglia di stupire e le esagerazioni.
Giovanni Battista visse nel nascondimento e nella altissima contemplazione, come risultato divenne il più grande “tra i nati di donna”.
«Quando gli inviati di Giovanni furono partiti, Gesù cominciò a dire alla folla riguardo a Giovanni: "Che cosa siete andati a vedere nel deserto? Una canna agitata dal vento? E allora, che cosa siete andati a vedere? Un uomo avvolto in morbide vesti? Coloro che portano vesti sontuose e vivono nella lussuria stanno nei palazzi dei re. Allora, che cosa siete andati a vedere? Un profeta? Sì, vi dico, e più che un profeta. Egli è colui del quale sta scritto:
Ecco io mando davanti a te il mio messaggero,
egli preparerà la via davanti a te.
Io vi dico, tra i nati di donna non c'è nessuno più grande di Giovanni"» (Lc 7,24-28).
Questa società è irrimediabilmente lontana da Dio e niente potrà farla ritornare alla preghiera. Quando verranno i segni dal Cielo per l'inarrestabile intervento di Dio come già ha fatto nella storia e soprattutto nell'Antico Testamento, solo allora "i vivi invidieranno i morti", come disse la Madonna a Fatima.
È proprio necessario arrivare sul ciglio del burrone per desiderare di tornare indietro, mentre già si scivola giù ed è forse troppo tardi per salvarsi?
Non si possono guardare neanche i quotidiani online per gli articoli stupidi che vi si trovano, pieni di notizie senza importanza ma che riportano gli eccessi di uomini senza identità e di donne prive di pudore. La voglia di stupire è stampata nei loro volti ed è sufficiente leggere l'inizio del titolo per farti un'idea dei cervelli che hanno scritto il titolo e i contenuti. E così non si leggono gli articoli per la loro inconsistenza.
La vita frenetica, le innumerevoli dissipazioni, la mancata formazione spirituale e molti eccessi allontanano dalla vita di Grazia.
La voglia di stupire e le esagerazioni distruggono forse definitivamente la persona, che conseguentemente fonda la sua vita sulle perversioni. Essa le terrà magari segrete, ma vivrà di perversioni!  Le due cause che disintegrano la morale e la dignità umana durano un lampo rispetto all'eternità.
Quando qualche fortunato si fa male e si sveglia dal torpore, si ritrova con un passato gettato alle ortiche e un presente da ricostruire. Senza sapere cosa troverà in futuro. Senza Gesù quale futuro potrà attendersi? Chi ha vissuto senza Dio morirà senza Dio.
Per questo, tutti noi animati dall'Amore che ci arriva da Gesù, vogliamo pregare ogni giorno per la conversione di tutti i peccatori.

B - Qui Gesù confronta e distingue la volontà del Padre dalla volontà dell'uomo. Svela l'infinita differenza e descrive le conseguenze opposte dell'una e dell'altra. Sono inutili, vuote, umane le azioni dei cristiani che parlano di Dio, e che spesso Lo predicano pure, ma seguono dogmaticamente la loro volontà. È una contraddizione che spesso non appare, ma c'è. È un distacco tra ciò che si annuncia e quanto viene compiuto. Si dichiara la Parola di Dio e si compie la propria parola.
Sta proprio in questo rinnegamento la santità del cristiano, e per santità si intende lo stato di Grazia, l'onestà, la rettitudine, la purezza.
Si sorvola con immensa leggerezza sulla volontà di Dio. Molti credenti e addetti la ignorano con una superficialità disarmante, e la calpestano senza considerarla. Non hanno compreso che l'essenza del cristiano si trova nel compiere la volontà di Dio e che senza la sua volontà non c'è in alcun modo un cammino di Fede e non si può rimanere in stato di Grazia.
È inutile ogni opera compiuta in Associazione o nella vita di tutti se la volontà di Dio non viene messa al centro di tutto.
È la sua volontà a garantire la bontà delle nostre opere, non possiamo seguire le nostre idee senza confrontarci con la Parola di Dio.
Per esempio, voler compiere un'opera buona è ammirabile, ma ciò può diventare cosa negativa se l'intenzione è egoistica o ambigua. La retta intenzione dà ad un'opera il sigillo del merito davanti a Dio, se non c'è la retta intenzione l'opera invece diventa inutile.
Chi parla di Dio ma segue la sua personale volontà, spreca inutilmente il suo tempo, e lo farà per averne vantaggi personali e per coprire altre scelte di vita. Le sue opere non diventano preghiera anche se buone, ma restano fatti esteriori e compiuti per vanteria. La sua vita non è di conseguenza ammirata da Dio. E allora a cosa serve vantarsi davanti agli uomini se Dio è lontano? Serve a coprire e a sviare. Questa condizione riguarda tutti, Consacrati e laici.
Questo di oggi è un passaggio molto delicato. Chi lo comprende e lo fa suo starà attento nelle scelte e in ogni circostanza della sua vita. «Non chiunque mi dice: “Signore, Signore”, entrerà nel Regno dei Cieli». Non può esserci distinzione tra il contenuto della preghiera e le opere che si compiono. Oltre ai probabili peccati mortali che si commettono, ci si allontana inesorabilmente da Dio e la mentalità acquisisce sempre più lo spirito della corruzione.
Nel Vangelo di oggi, prima di spiegare le conseguenze della costruzione spirituale forte e di quella fragile, Gesù delinea l'inutilità dell'apostolato o dell'appartenenza alla sua Chiesa di quei cristiani che operano con secondi fini, utilizzando però il suo Nome.
«In quel giorno molti mi diranno:
“Signore, Signore, non abbiamo forse profetato nel tuo Nome?
E nel tuo Nome non abbiamo forse scacciato demoni?
E nel tuo Nome non abbiamo forse compiuto molti prodigi?”».
Non solo è stato inutile il loro operare con una intenzione subdola, ma essi ne avranno conseguenze tremende perché hanno compiuto quelle opere per soddisfare finalità personali, di prestigio e di ostentazione. E chi agisce non in maniera limpida, pura e onesta, sguazza nei peccati mortali con una disinvoltura che impressiona. Il suo volto è segnato dalla corruzione e il suo cuore non conosce la vera gioia.
«Ma allora Io dichiarerò loro: “Non vi ho mai conosciuti. Allontanatevi da me, voi operatori di iniquità!”».
Parole tremende e che non auguro neanche ai miei persecutori, infatti prego ogni giorno per loro.
Non c'è nella vita peggior male di sentire queste parole di Gesù. Tutto a confronto è sublime. Le conseguenze di quanti sentiranno queste parole non sono immaginabili, sappiamo solo che andranno dove "c'è pianto e stridore di denti" (Mt 25,30). Una condanna definitiva perché hanno abusato di una straordinaria misericordia.
Finché c'è tempo è possibile cambiare vita e pentirsi degli errori passati. Gesù rimane con le braccia aperte nell'atto di accogliere nel suo Cuore i peccatori pentiti. Nessuno dubiti dell'infinita misericordia di Dio, ma non rinvii la sua conversione perché il tempo non è guidato dall'uomo.
Il credente che persegue con forza e coraggio il cammino di Fede e il credente convertito che inizia un cammino forte, fondano la loro spiritualità e poggiano le loro vite sulla Parola di Dio, sull'Onnipotenza Divina e non dovranno temere tempeste di persecuzioni e violenti venti di sofferenze. Supereranno tutto con l'aiuto di Dio. Non devono temere niente e nessuno.
Tragica è la fine di coloro che invece poggiano tutto sulla loro volontà e agiscono senza osservare la Parola di Dio. La vita può ingannarli con un po’ di successi imprenditoriali e con un benessere acquisito senza attenersi a certi doveri morali, ma essi sono privi di verità e di sincera gioia. Essi poggiano le loro certezze sul denaro e sulla mentalità festaiola. Capovolgono i valori e corrono dietro a futilità inconsistenti, vivono di capricci e con molta superficialità.
La Madonna allontani voi dalla vita insignificante e vi guidi verso le altezze della vera spiritualità. Pregate molto il Santo Rosario.

C - Voglio inizialmente ricordare il tifoso napoletano morto l'altro ieri dopo due mesi di lotta tra la vita e la morte. Lo ricordo perché non era un teppista. Era sicuramente un tifoso idolatrico che viveva anche lui per la sua squadra del cuore. È sempre il cuore ad adorare i calciatori come divinità, fino a identificarsi in loro e a ripetere ogni loro stupidità.
In Italia da decenni si parla di nuove leggi contro la violenza negli stadi e non si è fatto nulla se non blande condanne per i teppisti che hanno commesso reati. Non è prevista alcuna prevenzione, cioè il deterrente, e non ci sono leggi severe per i fanatici. La colpa e le responsabilità di ciò sono di tutta la classe politica, che non vuole perdere il proprio elettorato composto prevalentemente da ultras, centri sociali e altri gruppi parassiti.
In Europa è scomparso il tifo violento e l'Italia rimane come al solito ultima in fatto di legalità e rispetto delle leggi.
La responsabilità è anche di moltissimi giornalisti ruffiani di alcuni calciatori con colpe vergognose, che vengono però coperte per l'amicizia ed altri interessi che si sono instaurati tra loro. Le notizie pubblicate parlano sempre in modo positivo e non lasciano scorgere la vera identità di questa gente arrogante, viziata, adorata, superpagata, e protetta.
C'è una sorta di protezione che sconfina il legale. Per un'amicizia fittizia o per cene con i propri idoli si può tacere e sorvolare su tutto.
La responsabilità dello stallo della legalizzazione negli stadi è voluta anche da quei calciatori che devono accontentare i loro amici ultras, quelli che fanno tifo organizzato negli stadi e fanno sentire a voce amplificata i nomi dei loro beniamini.
Sono responsabili anche quei calciatori dell'Italia che in questi giorni hanno agito con modi arroganti nello spogliatoio nell'intervallo e dopo l'ultima partita, trasformando un incontro sportivo in una resa dei conti, fino alle minacce. Ho sentito al Tg due brevi interviste a due calciatori italiani. Il loro tono era da fine del mondo, pronti ad uccidere verbalmente altri colleghi ed a mettersi sul piedistallo dei giusti.
Sono senza vergogna. Sono loro i primi ad avere trasformato un gioco in una faida, in una sfida tra morte sociale e vita ipocrita, offuscata da un finto benessere.
Non ho tempo per scrivere altro su costoro che sono lontani anni luce dai valori del Vangelo.
Un'altra notizia che ieri ha sorpreso molti è stata l'assegnazione agli arresti domiciliari della mamma di Cogne. Non mi esprimo sull'opportunità, ma sono sorpreso dal cambiamento del parere. Dopo le varie perizie che la dichiaravano pericolosa fino a un mese fa, in questi giorni la sentenza del Tribunale di sorveglianza di Bologna ha cambiato opinione e ha stabilito che essa non è più in grado di fare del male. Cioè, non ci sarebbe più la possibilità o il rischio che la donna commetta un altro delitto.
Se queste perizie ballerine valgono anche per tutte le altre mamme detenute sono contento. Sorprende il cambiamento del parere in poco tempo. La donna era stata condannata a 16 anni di carcere, ma dopo soli 6 anni le concedono gli arresti domiciliari. Questo trattamento viene eseguito anche con tutte le altre mamme in carcere? Allora si agisca con lo stesso metro di giudizio anche per tutte le altre mamme detenute e le si faccia ritornare nelle loro famiglie.
Oggi è la festa del Cuore di Gesù. Il suo invito è alla bontà e alla mitezza, ma è anche la richiesta di un alto senso di giustizia che deve possedere il potere giudiziario e tutta la società. Per costruire una società civile occorrono imparzialità, onestà, equità.
Il silenzio assordante sulla mitezza di Gesù risuona nei credenti che ignorano i suoi sentimenti, quindi le prerogative del Signore. La conoscenza di Gesù in moltissimi cattolici è minima o inesistente. Una carenza che si è stabilizzata per un mancato messaggio pastorale e la scelta di parlare quasi sempre di temi sociali. Fa parte della missione dei Consacrati interessarsi al sociale ma non il dedicarsi pienamente ad esso.
Molti Sacerdoti impegnati solonel sociale perdono il gusto della preghiera e non possono trasmettere ai fedeli il pieno messaggio pastorale.
Posto che gli immigrati vanno aiutati e che dobbiamo amarli senza alcun limite, è molto strano che molti parroci siano interessati solo agli immigrati e trascurino i propri parrocchiani poveri e ammalati. Forse occuparsi dei parrocchiani non fa notizia o non si prova l'ebbrezza eccitante che si sperimenta diventando accogliente verso chi arriva da lontano.
Il fatto strano è che essi si occupano solamente degli immigrati, non pensano più ai Sacramenti e tacciono su Gesù unico Salvatore del mondo.
Da ieri forse è meno strano l'impegno premuroso di qualche Sacerdote nell'accogliere gli immigrati nella parrocchia e il loro impegno per ottenere il visto di soggiorno. È stato arrestato il responsabile della Caritas di Trapani, un Sacerdote impegnato nell'accoglienza degli immigrati. Da quanto hanno detto i mass-media esistono registrazioni e testimonianze su abusi sessuali in cambio di aiuti, chiamiamoli umanitari. Otto casi di abusi sessuali sono accertati in modo inequivocabile.
Risulta singolare l'interesse verso gli immigrati da parte di personaggi politici per fini elettorali e per annientare il Cristianesimo, oppure lo stesso interesse di quei Sacerdoti che non si occupano più delle cose di Dio e non pensano ad altro che ad esporsi per ricevere attenzioni. C'è qualcosa che non va, e ciò viene evidenziato in modo indubitabile dalla mancanza di spiritualità.
Madre Teresa di Calcutta e quei Sacerdoti che aiutavano e aiutano ancora i poveri e gli immigrati con una dedizione al di sopra di ogni sospetto, mettevano e mettono al centro il messaggio del Vangelo, non mischiando la missione apostolica con un servizio civile che in realtà spetta allo Stato italiano.
Sono arrivato a trattare dei cari immigrati, che dobbiamo aiutare secondo le possibilità, pensando a quei Sacerdoti che dimenticano la loro missione, la vera ragione della loro consacrazione, e la promessa di rinunciare a tutto per seguire la volontà di Dio.
Non si aiutano i parrocchiani che vivono a pochi metri per andare a cercare come trofei da esibire altre persone che devono ricevere aiuti dallo Stato. O si aprono le strutture chiuse dello Stato per accogliere degnamente gli immigrati o si taccia per sempre sull’argomento. Non si può farli entrare senza offrire loro vera ospitalità e sane prospettive di inserimento ed integrazione sociale.
Gesù è ignorato! Riportiamo Gesù al centro delle Chiese e dei cuori. Le omelie siano sul Vangelo e sulla Persona del Signore.
L'assenza di Gesù nelle omelie e nei colloqui spirituali sta allontanando i cuori dei credenti da Dio. Non si valutino i veri cattolici dalla loro frequentazione alla Messa ma dalla loro reale capacità di vivere la Messa in tutte le circostanze della vita. Meditare ogni giorno anche per 10 minuti sul Cuore di Gesù è un esercizio efficace per conoscerlo meglio e trovare conforto e forza in Lui.

D - La devozione al Cuore Immacolato ha ricevuto un forte impulso dopo le apparizioni della Madonna a Fatima nel 1917. In una delle sei apparizioni Ella disse a Lucia un po’ preoccupata per il futuro: "Il mio Cuore Immacolato sarà il tuo rifugio".
Queste parole dicono poco se non si considera la Maternità Divina della Vergine, la sua elevazione ad una santità che sfiora l'infinito.
Il suo Cuore Immacolato è il rifugio dei credenti perché sede di un Amore smisurato verso la Santissima Trinità. E’ un Cuore che ha amato Dio in un crescendo pieno di fiducia e di abbandono totale. È un Cuore che ha fatto da Paradiso a Dio incarnato, perché sempre Immacolato, non toccato dal peccato originale né da una minima imperfezione.
È il nostro rifugio sicuro per il terrore che prova satana ad avvicinarsi a questo Cuore trasfigurato e divinizzato.
La devozione al Cuore Immacolato è importante per la straordinaria protezione che si riceve e la resistenza che si oppone alle tentazioni e agli assalti dei diavoli. Inoltre si comprendono con maggiore lucidità e si assimilano i sentimenti della Madonna.
La vera devozione alla Vergine Maria è l'imitazione delle sue virtù. Ma non è facile imitarla, e così la devozione al suo Cuore Immacolato ci permette di ricevere il suo Spirito, e conseguentemente Ella ci trasmette i suoi sentimenti.
La festa liturgica del Cuore Immacolato di Maria fu promossa da San Giovanni Eudes (1601-1680). Egli intorno al 1643 cominciò a celebrare questa festività con i religiosi della sua congregazione. Nel 1668 le festa e i testi liturgici furono approvati dal cardinale delegato per tutta la Francia. Papa Pio XII estese nel 1944 la festa a tutta la Chiesa, a perenne ricordo della Consacrazione del mondo al Cuore Immacolato di Maria, da lui fatta nel 1942.
C'è una stretta vicinanza con la solennità del Sacro Cuore di Gesù. Era nei pensieri di San Giovanni Eudes  il non voler separare i due Cuori di Gesù e di Maria. Ciò per sottolineare l’unione profonda della Madre col Figlio di Dio fatto Carne in Lei, perché la vita di Gesù per nove mesi palpitò unita a quella del Cuore della Madre Maria.
Questa festa ci ricorda sia l'innocenza del Cuore di Maria Santissima per Grazia di Dio, sia l'impegno spirituale tenuto dalla Vergine in tutta la sua vita. Questo Cuore ha amato solo Dio, in Dio emanava la sua bontà verso i parenti, ma l'unico interesse era l'adorazione di Dio.
Il Cuore della Madonna si preoccupò di fare esclusivamente la volontà di Dio, ed acquisì una santità inarrivabile anche a quella di tutti i Santi insieme. Non solo nacque Immacolata, la sua vita fu un unico inno di lode a Dio per le meraviglie di Grazie compiute in Lei.
La devozione alla Vergine Maria è determinante nel cammino di Fede. Da Lei si riceve una grande protezione contro gli assalti dei diavoli e le tremende tentazioni. Sotto la sua guida si ottiene un insegnamento silenzioso e sottile sulla Verità della sana dottrina cattolica. Chi non ama la Madonna non potrà mai rimanere fedele a Gesù, perché è la Madre che fa conoscere tutta la Verità sul Figlio Divino.
Chi prega con devozione l'Immacolata diventa più forte nello spirito, la sua trasformazione spirituale è costante e santificante, si distacca progressivamente dall'amor proprio e acquisisce un grande amore verso Gesù. Cerca con maggiore determinazione di adorare Gesù davanti al Tabernacolo e prova un trasporto amoroso verso Dio Padre.
Si ottiene una grande protezione con la preghiera del Santo Rosario.
È la preghiera più potente per la Grazia acquisita dalla Madonna.

E - In ogni sua azione Gesù trova un insegnamento da impartirci, come quando "vedendo la folla attorno a sé, ordinò di passare all’altra riva". Ciò potrebbe sembrare una scelta consueta o priva d'interesse, ma in Gesù non è pensabile, anche questo passaggio ha una sua rilevanza.
Passando all'altra riva, per esempio, si compie una selezione naturale tra quanti Lo seguivano per curiosità e quanti rimanevano attratti dalla sua Persona e dai suoi affascinanti insegnamenti. Chi Lo ascoltava rimaneva incantato, ed era impressionato dalla profondità delle parole di amore e di pace. I suoi insegnamenti diventavano inenarrabili perché difficilmente si potevano ripetere parola per parola.
Ai credenti viene fatta sempre da Gesù la proposta di passare "all’altra riva". Non all'inizio del cammino spirituale, perché le forze sono ridotte e non c'è la capacità di compiere sacrifici impegnativi. Gesù attende. Quando riconosce una minima disponibilità ad accogliere con maggiore partecipazione il suo Vangelo, Egli invia le sue ispirazioni, gli inviti per lasciare il peccato e passare "all’altra riva".
Per molti è difficilissimo questo passaggio da una vita tiepida ad una fervorosa, vissuta nelle rinunce e nella pratica del Vangelo.
L'intervento della Madonna è immancabile. Ella è la Maestra della spiritualità di suo Figlio. E’ stato il Figlio ad avere incaricato la Madre di guidare nella santità i credenti fervorosi. Il ruolo della Vergine Maria è impareggiabile. Ella vede e conosce tutto attraverso Dio, nulla Le è ignoto del presente e del futuro di ognuno di noi.
Ogni giorno si fanno molte esperienze sulla conoscenza perfetta e profetica che la Madonna possiede dei nostri pensieri, degli interventi miracolosi che compie, della premura tutta materna che La spinge a seguire ininterrottamente ognuno di noi.
Come può la Madonna conoscere tutto di tutti noi?
Conosce tutto nella Luce Divina, ed è l'unica Creatura perfetta innalzata dalla Santissima Trinità ad una santità quasi infinita.
Il ricorso a Lei con la recita di più Corone al giorno del Santo Rosario è il rimedio più forte ed intelligente contro le tentazioni e i pericoli della vita di ogni giorno. I diavoli e il mondo corrotto cercano di distoglierci dal cammino di santità. Anche l'orgoglio non mortificato è un nemico da abbattere quanto prima.
Nelle preghiere del mattino, quando recitiamo la consacrazione al suo Cuore Immacolato, bisogna chiedere a Lei di farci trionfare sui vizi e di renderci forti dinanzi a qualsiasi tentazione. Chiedete con fiducia, chiedete come i bambini chiedono alla madre del cibo per sfamarsi.
Uno degli effetti scaturiti dal passaggio di Gesù "all'altra riva", fu l'avvicinarsi di uno scriba apparentemente convertito, anche se deciso esteriormente a seguirlo ovunque. "Maestro, Ti seguirò dovunque Tu vada".
Gesù non lo accolse, non lo incoraggiò perché leggeva nel suo cuore la mancanza di una sincera disponibilità. Non è importante la parola, è il cuore ad amare o a rimanere tiepido. Le opere danno la conferma di quanto contiene il cuore.
Leggiamo la risposta fredda di Gesù: "Le volpi hanno le loro tane e gli uccelli del cielo i loro nidi, ma il Figlio dell’Uomo non ha dove posare il capo". Come a dire: "Non sei pronto per venire dietro a me, riempiti del mio Spirito e torna quando la tua intenzione sarà autentica".
Subito dopo però accolse un altro discepolo, anche se la resistenza iniziale e la richiesta del giovane potevano sembrare legittime: "Signore, permettimi di andare prima a seppellire mio padre". La risposta di Gesù non fu severa. Portò il giovane a considerare il primato dell'anima non più presente nel corpo del morto, e il corpo che diventerà cenere: "Seguimi, e lascia che i morti seppelliscano i loro morti".
Altri che vivevano come morti nello spirito dovevano andare dietro al morto, il giovane era vivo perché seguace del Vivente e non aveva necessità di ricercare chi non era più sulla terra. Gesù lo ha elevato ad una spiritualità interiore che nobilita l'anima e spinge a pregare per i bisogni dell'anima del morto, mentre il suo corpo andrà in putrefazione.

A - Of all the Saints, the Church celebrates only the Nativity of John the Baptist. In addition, on August 29 there is another holiday dedicated to the Precursor and his martyrdom is celebrated. This is the justice of God: to give more to those which much deserve, and the example of Mary Magdalene who has met the Risen Jesus first of the Apostles is the most classic.
This great prophet closes chronologically the Old Testament. With him ends the preparation for the coming of the Messiah and as soon as it appears on the horizon the figure of Jesus the one of John the Baptist goes out.
His life is an ascetic program hardly imitable. He wanted to live his mission with zeal and style penitential unthinkable for humans beings not confirmed in Grace as had been Him, when winced in Elizabeth's womb as soon as heard the voice of the Madonna. Was the Virgin Mary at talking but from Her went out the power of the Highest that carried in Her womb.         If we look at John the Baptist with the eyes of Faith, we realize that today's society lives in complete contrast to his example. Are these two completely opposite lifestyles. If that of Santo was characterized by a tremendous penance, the dissipated life of the humanity is a fall very deep, and few are those who manage to cling to God's mercy.            We should not consider the penances of the Holy as absolute exaggerations.He expressed his love at God, forgetting earthly things, and abandoning himself completely to his will. Love was proportionate to his penances, and his dedication to the cause of Jesus did not had absolutely failures and he was living to please to God. Today the society is filled with moral disasters. The two triggers are the desire to surprise and the exaggerations.
John the Baptist lived in the shadows and in the highest contemplation, as a result became the greatest "among those born of women".      “When the messengers of John were departed, Jesus began to speak to the crowd about John: "What went ye out to see into the wilderness? A reed shaken by the wind? And then, what did you go to see? A man wrapped in soft clothes? Those who wear sumptuous robes and live in luxury are in kings' palaces. So, what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yea, I say, and more than a prophet. This is he of whom is written: Behold, I am sending my messenger ahead of you, he will prepare the way before you. I say to you, among those born of women there is none greater than John “(Lk 7.24 to 28).            This society is hopelessly far from God and nothing will be able to bring it back to prayer. When will come the signs from Heaven for the relentless intervention of God as it has already done in history and especially in the Old Testament, only then "the living will envy the dead," as Our Lady said at Fatima.
It is so necessary to arrive on the edge of the ravine in order to wish to go back, while already you are sliding down and it is perhaps too late for save us? You cannot even look at the newspapers online for stupid articles that you find there, full of news of no importance but which highlight the excesses of men with no identity  and of women without shame. The desire to impress is printed in their faces and it is sufficient to read the beginning of the title to get an idea of the brains who wrote the title and content. And so we do not read the articles for their inconsistency.   The hectic lifestyle, the countless dissipations, the non-spiritual formation and many excesses bring away from the life of Grace.     The desire to impress and the exaggerations destroy perhaps permanently the person, who consequently founds his life on the perversions. He will keep those maybe secret, but he will live of perversions! The two causes that disintegrate the moral and the human dignity remain a flash compared to eternity.    When some lucky hurts himself and wakes up from slumber, he finds himself with a  past thrown to the winds and a present to be rebuilt. Without knowing what will find in the future. Without Jesus what future can be expected? Who lived without God will die without God.           For this, all us animated by the Love that comes to us from Jesus, we want to pray daily for the conversion of all sinners.       Good prayer at all.

B - Here Jesus compares and distinguishes the Father's will by the will of man. He uncovers the infinite difference and describes the opposite consequences of both. They are useless, empty, human the actions of Christians who speak of God, and that often preach Him also, but dogmatically follow their will. It is a contradiction that often does not appear, but there is. It is a gap between what is announced and what is being done. We declare the Word of God and we fulfill our.     Lies precisely in this denial the holiness of the Christian, and for holiness we mean the state of Grace, honesty, uprightness, purity.     It flies over with immense lightness on the will of God. Many believers and practitioners ignore her with a disarming superficiality, and trample her without consideration. Little did they realize that the essence of the Christian lies in doing the will of God, and that without his will there is not in any way a journey of Faith and you cannot remain in a state of Grace.        It is useless to any work done in Association or in everyone's life if God's will is not put at the center of everything. It is his desire to ensure the goodness of our works, we cannot follow our ideas without comparing with the Word of God. For example, it is admirable to want make a good work, but this can become negative thing if the intention is selfish or ambiguous. The honest intention gives to an opera the seal of merit before God, if there is no honest intention the opera instead becomes useless.             Those who talk about God, but follows his own will, unnecessarily uses his time, and he will do it in order to have personal gain and to cover other life choices. His works do not become prayer though good, but they remain external facts and done for bragging. His life is therefore not appreciated by God. Then up to what extent do you need to boast before men if God is far away? This serves to cover and deflect. This condition applies to everybody, Consecrated and lay people.   This of today is a passage very delicate. Who understands it and does it his own will be careful in the choices and in every circumstance of his life. "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord' will enter the kingdom of heaven." There can be no distinction between the content of the prayer and the works that are done. In addition to the probable mortal sins that you do, you are inexorably away from God and the mentality acquires more and more the spirit of corruption. In today's Gospel, before explaining the consequences of spiritual building strong and of that fragile, Jesus outlines the futility of the apostolate or of belonging to the Church of those Christians who work with ulterior motives, but using his name.     "On that day many will say to me:        "Lord, Lord, did we not perhaps prophesy in your name?     And in thy name have we not cast out devils?     And in thy name have we not done many miracles? '".     Not only it has been useless to their operate with a devious plan, but they will have of it dire consequences because they have made those works to meet personal goals, of prestige and ostentation. And who acts not in a clear, pure and honest, wallows in mortal sins with an ease that impresses. His face is marked by corruption and his heart does not know the true joy.        "But then I will declare to them," I never knew you. Depart from me, you evildoers. '"            Awful words and that I do not  want even to wish to my persecutors, in fact I pray every day for them. There is not in life worst hurt of hear these words of Jesus. Everything in comparison is sublime. The consequences of those who will listen to these words are not imaginable, we only know that they will go where "there is weeping and gnashing of teeth" (Mt 25,30). A final conviction because they abused an extraordinary mercy.           As long as there is time it is possible to change life and repent of past mistakes. Jesus remains with arms outstretched in the act of welcome in his Heart of repentant sinners. No one doubts the infinite mercy of God, but that he does not postpone his conversion because the time is not driven by man.      The believer who pursues with courage and strength the path of Faith and the believer converted that begins a strong path, base their spirituality and their lives on the Word of God, on the Divine Omnipotence and should not fear storms of persecution and winds violent of suffering. They will exceed all with the help of God. They should not fear anything or anyone.        Tragic is the end of all those who instead rely everything on their own will and they act without observing the Word of God. Life can trick them with a little 'of entrepreneurial success and with well-being acquired without adhering to certain moral duties, but they are devoid of truth and sincere joy. They base their certainties on money and on mentality reveler. They reverse values and run behind  inconsistent futilities, live of whims and with a lot of superficiality.      That the Madonna takes you away from the meaningless life and guides you to the heights of the true spirituality. C -I want first to remind the Neapolitan supporter died the day before yesterday after two months of struggle between life and death. I remember him because he was not a thug. He was definitely an idolatrous supporter that also him lived for his team of the heart. It is always the heart at adore the players as deity, up to identify with them and to repeat all their stupidities.          In Italy from decades it talks of new laws against violence in stadiums and nothing has been done other than mild sentences for thugs who have committed crimes. It is not foreseen any prevention, that is to say a deterrent, and there are not strict laws for the fanatics. The fault and the responsibility of all of this are of the political class, who does not want to lose his electorate mainly consisting of ultras, community centers and other parasitic groups.        In Europe is disappeared the hooliganism and Italy remains as usual last in terms of legality and respect for the laws.       Accountability is also of a lot of journalists pimps of some players with shameful sins, which are, however, covered for friendship and for other interests that have been established between them. The news published always are talking in a positive way and do not reveal the true identity of these people that are arrogant, spoiled, adored, overpaid and protected.        There is a kind of protection that crosses the frontier of the legal. For a friendship fictitious or dinners with their idols you can be silent and gloss over everything.             The responsibility of the stalemate of legalization in the stadiums is also desired by those players who must satisfy their friends ultras, those who make organized cheering in the stadiums and make you feel at amplified voice the names of their heroes.            Are also responsible those football players of the team of Italy that in these days have acted with arrogant ways in the locker room during the mid-time break and at the end of last game, turning a sporting event in a showdown, up to threats.  I heard at the Tg two short interviews with two Italian players. Their tone was from doomsday, they were ready to kill verbally other colleagues and putting themselves on the pedestal of the righteous.        They are without shame. They are the first to have turned a game into a blood feud, in a battle between the social death, and the life hypocritical, tarnished by a false prosperity. I do not have time to write more about these that are light years away from the values of the Gospel.          Another news that yesterday surprised many was the allocation under house arrest of the mom of Cogne. I do not comment on the opportunity, but I am surprised by the change of opinion. After the various surveys that declared she dangerous until a month ago, these days the judgment of the Court of Bologna has changed its mind and decided that she is no longer capable of doing harm. That is, there not would be the possibility or the risk that the woman commits another crime.    If these shaky conclusions also apply to all the other mothers in prison I am happy. It is surprising the change of opinion in a short time. The woman was sentenced to 16 years in prison, but after only 6 years she has been granted house arrest. Is this treatment also applied with all the other mothers in prison? Then we have to act with the same yardstick also for all other mothers held and let them return to their families.            Today is the feast of the Heart of Jesus. His invitation is to the goodness and gentleness, but also the demand for a high sense of justice which must possess the judiciary and society as a whole. To build a civil society are needed impartiality, honesty and fairness.          The deafening silence on the meekness of Jesus resonates in believers who ignore his feelings, thus the prerogatives of the Lord. The knowledge of Jesus in many Catholics is minimal or non-existent. A deficiency that it is stabilized by a pastoral message missed and choice of talk almost always about social issues. It is part of the mission of the Consecrated of being interested in the social but not of being fully devoted to it.           Many priests only engaged in social lose the taste for prayer and cannot convey to the faithful the full pastoral message.       Given that immigrants should be helped and that we must love them without limits, it is very strange that many parish priests are concerned only to immigrants and neglect their parishioners poor and sick. Maybe take care of the parishioners does not make newsworthy or not you test the exciting thrill that is experienced becoming welcoming to those who come from afar. The strange thing is that they are concerned only of immigrants, they no longer think about the Sacraments and are silent about Jesus as only Savior of the world.         Since yesterday is perhaps less strange the thoughtful commitment of some Priest in welcoming the immigrants in the parish and their commitment to get the residence visa. He was arrested the responsible of Caritas in Trapani, a priest engaged to welcome the immigrants. From what they told the media there are records and testimonies of sexual abuse in return for aid, let us call them humanitarians. Eight cases of sexual abuse have been acknowledged in an unequivocal manner.   It is singular the interest towards immigrants by politicians for electoral purposes and for destroying the  Christianity, or the same interest of those Priests who do not take up more of the things of God and do not think of anything other than expose themselves to get attention. There is something wrong, and this is indicated beyond doubt by the lack of spirituality.        Mother Teresa of Calcutta and those Priests who helped and still help the poor and the immigrants with a dedication above all suspicion, put and continue to put at the center the message of the Gospel, not mixing the apostolic mission with a civil service that in reality it has to be managed by the Italian State.     I have come to talk about the dear immigrants, that we have to help according to the possibilities, thinking of those Priests who forget their mission, the real reason of their consecration, and the promise to give up everything to follow God's will.  The parishioners who live a few meters are not helped  in order to go to fetch as trophies to be shown the other people that need to receive aid from the State. Or we open up the closed structures of the State to worthily receive immigrants or forever we keep silent on the subject. You cannot let them come in without offering them true hospitality and healthy prospects of inclusion and social integration.  Jesus is ignored! Let us bring back Jesus at the center of Churches and hearts. The homilies have to be on the Gospel and on the Person of the Lord. The absence of Jesus in the homilies and in spiritual talks is moving away the hearts of believers from God. Do not you evaluate the true Catholics from their attendance at Mass but by their actual ability to live the Mass in all the circumstances of life. To meditate every day also for 10 minutes on the Heart of Jesus is an effective exercise to know him better and find comfort and strength in Him.    Good prayer at all.

D - Devotion to the Immaculate Heart has received a major boost after the apparitions of Our Lady at Fatima in 1917. In one of the six apparitions she told at Lucy a bit worried about the future: "My Immaculate Heart will be your refuge."  These words mean little if you do not consider the Divine Maternity of the Blessed Virgin, her elevation to a sainthood that touches infinity.    Her Immaculate Heart is the refuge of the believers because seat of an immense Love for the Most Holy Trinity. It is a Heart that loved God in a crescendo full of confidence and total abandonment. It is a Heart that has been the paradise of God incarnate, because always immaculate, neither touched by original sin nor by a minimum imperfection.           It is our safe haven for the terror that Satan feels when he approaches to this Heart transfigured and deified.        Devotion to the Immaculate Heart is important for the extraordinary protection that you receive and the resistance that you opposes the temptations and assaults of the devils. In addition you understand and assimilate with greater clarity the feelings of the Madonna.            True devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary is the imitation of her virtues. But it is not easy to imitate, and so the devotion to her Immaculate Heart allows us to receive His Spirit, and consequently she conveys to us her feelings.    The liturgical feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary was promoted by St. John Eudes (1601-1680). Around 1643 he began to celebrate this festivity with the religious of his congregation. In 1668 the festivity and liturgical texts were approved by the cardinal delegate for the whole of France. Pope Pius XII in 1944 extended the feast to the whole Church, a perpetual memory of the Consecration of the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, which he made in 1942.      There is a close proximity to the solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Was in the thoughts of St. John Eudes the not to want separate the two Hearts of Jesus and Mary. This is to emphasize the profound union of the Mother with the Son of God made flesh in Her, because the life of Jesus for nine months palpitated united to that of Heart of the Mother Mary. This feast reminds us of both the innocence of the Heart of Most Holy Mary, by the Grace of God, both spiritual commitment held by the Virgin in her entire life. This heart has loved God, in God emanated his kindness to the relatives, but the only interest was the worship of God.    The Heart of Our Lady worried itself to do only the will of God, and acquired a sanctity unattainable even to that of all the Saints together. Not only she was born Immaculate, her life was a single hymn of praise to God for the wonders of Grace accomplished in her.          Devotion to the Virgin Mary is crucial in the journey of Faith. From her you receive a great protection against the assaults of the devils and the terrible temptations. Under his guidance, you get a silent teaching and thin on the Truth of the Catholic wholesome doctrine. Who does not love Madonna will never remain faithful to Jesus, because it is the Mother who makes know the whole truth about the Divine Son. Who prays with devotion the Immaculate becomes stronger in spirit, his spiritual transformation is constant and sanctifying, deviates progressively from  own love and acquires a great love for Jesus. Search with greater determination of adoring Jesus in the Tabernacle and tries a loving transportation towards God the Father.  You get great protection with the prayer of the Holy Rosary.    It is the most powerful prayer for the Grace acquired by the Madonna.  Good prayer at all.

E - In every action, Jesus finds a teaching for us, as when "seeing the crowd around him, ordered to go to the other shore." This may seem like a usual choice or uninteresting, but in Jesus is unthinkable, even this step has its own importance.  Moving on to the other shore, for example, you completes a natural selection among those who followed Him out of curiosity and how many were still attracted by its Person and by his fascinating teachings. Who listened to Him was delighted, and he was impressed by the depth of the words of love and peace. His teachings became unspeakable because not easily they could be repeated word by word.   To believers it is always made by Jesus the proposal to pass "onto the other shore". Not at the beginning of the spiritual path, because the forces are reduced and there is not the ability to make challenging sacrifices. Jesus waits. When recognizes a  willingness minimum to accept with greater participation his Gospel, He sends his inspirations, the invitations for leaving sin and to pass "onto the other shore".  For many is very very difficult this transition from a lukewarm life to a fervent, lived in the renunciations and in practice of the Gospel.   The intervention of the Madonna is inevitable. She is the Mistress of the spirituality of his Son. It was the Son to have instructed the Mother to drive in the holiness the fervent believers. The role of the Virgin Mary is unmatched. She sees and knows everything through God, nothing is unknown to Her about the present and future of each of us. Every day you make a lot of experiences on perfect knowledge and prophetic that the Madonna owns of our thoughts, of the miraculous interventions that performs, of the care all maternal that pushes Her to continuously follow each of us.             How can the Madonna know everything about all of us?   She knows everything in the Divine Light, and is the only perfect Creature raised from the Holy Trinity up to a nearly infinite holiness.    The appeal to Her with the recitation of more Crowns per day of the Holy Rosary is the most powerful and intelligent remedy against the temptations and dangers of everyday life. The devils and the corrupt world are trying to distract us from the path of holiness. Even the pride not mortified is an enemy to be killed as soon as possible.            In the morning prayers, when we recite the consecration to her Immaculate Heart, you have to ask Her to make us triumph over the vices and make us strong before any temptation. Ask with confidence, ask how the children ask to the mother some food to eat.            One of the effects arising from the passage of Jesus, "to the other shore", was the approach of a scribe apparently converted, although outwardly decided to follow him everywhere. "Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go."   Jesus did not welcome him, did not encourage him because he read in his heart the lack of a sincere willingness. It is not important the word, it is the heart to love or to remain lukewarm. The works give the confirmation of what contains the heart.  Let us read the cold response of Jesus: "The foxes have holes and the birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has not where to lay his head." As if to say: "You're not ready to come after me, fill yourself of my Spirit and come back to me when your intention will be genuine."         Soon after, however, He received another disciple, even if the initial resistance and the request of the young could seem legitimate, "Lord, let me go first and bury my father." Jesus' answer was not severe. He brought the young man to consider the primacy of the soul no longer present in the body of the dead man, and the body that will turn to ashes, "Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead."   Others who lived as dead in their spirit they had to follow the dead, the young man was alive because a follower of the Living and had no need to seek who was no longer on earth. Jesus elevated him to an inner spirituality that dignifies the soul and urges to pray for the needs of the soul of the dead, while his body will rot.  Good prayer at all.
